In a Time Warp

We had a beautiful snowfall this past week. Everything was covered in a blanket of white and it was a thrilling sight. Personally, I do love the snow and wish we had more of it. If I didn't like snow, I would move to Florida or something.

Of course snowfall can bring troubles as roads become slick and dangerous but that's OK if one knows how to handle their vehicle. Most everyone knows I drive a 1976 Camaro. Bear in mind that my car is 32 years old and is rear-wheel drive. Cars today are front wheel drive and are supposed to be better in snowy conditions due to the engine weight being over the wheels. As I was driving on this snowy night, several "new and improved" cars were off in ditches. I had to hurry home because these so-called "improved" cars were putting me in greater danger of getting into a ditch myself.

There are different ways to handle front and rear wheel drive vehicles. Generally, a front wheel drive car should be driven with less foot on the gas pedal so that the car pulls itself through the snow meaning that cars are generally going slower. But us rear wheel guys must have come speed to make it up a g rade of any size, fishtailing all the way up, and on this snowy night, every one was in my way. Back in 1976, everybody had rear wheel drive cars so everyone was in the same boat. Now, 32 years later, I am in a minority and the odd man out. I need speed to survive on icy roads when no one else does.

Today, religion offers itself as "new and improved." People seem to want to adapt and change religion as society changes and giving book, chapter and verse for religious practice is viewed by many as old fashioned. I wish the "change agents" would get of out the way and let my old fashioned religion get me the speed I need to make it up the next hill to heaven.
