Let the Redeemed Say So
"Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy" (Psalms 107:2.) Thus the
Psalmist set forth a principle repeated often in scripture.
The people of God have been redeemed from
the hand of the devil. Our sins were washed away as we were baptized into Christ
(Acts 22:16.) Now we are set free from sin to served the Lord (Romans 6:16-17.)
We are redeemed and belong to Jesus. As redeemed people, let us say so. Christians
are saved to save others. We should be telling others we are redeemed.
Jesus said, "You are the light of the
world, a city that is set on a hill cannot be hid" (Matthew 5:14.) The
flashlight isn't going to do any good unless it is turned on. How can we as
Christians be silent to teh wonderful act of redemption we have experienced.
Jesus went on to explain this in the next vers, "nor do they light a lamp
and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand that it may give light to all
who are in the house" (Matthew 5:15.) Like the children sing "This little
light of min, I'm gonna let it shine!" Let the redeemed say so.
"Go home to your friends and tell them
what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on
you" (Mark 5:19.) Good news is meant to be spread and here was a man that
received compassion from the Lord. There was no way he could be silent about
the good he received from teh Lord and in fact, he did just as the Lord told
him to. "And he departed and began to proclaim in decapolis all that Jesus
had done for him; and all marveled." (Mark 5:20.) There are those in Versailles
that have experienced the redemption from the Lord and we need to be telling
others. Let the redeemed say so.
Jesus gave his disciples a commission to
preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15) but the preaching of the gospel
is for every generation. Paul said, "the things you have heard from me among
many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others
also" (II Timothy 2:2.) Each generation has the responsibility to make
sure there are those who can teach others but ultimatley the responsibility
lies with each Christian. This is our time in the kingdom of GOd and we are
here for the purpose of telling others the good news of salvation. It is time
for the people of God to stand up and be counted. Let the excitement of redemption
fill our hearts and get out thee among the people to tell them of Jesus. Let
the redeemed say so!
