Is it Possible?

1st century Christianity in the 21st century?

Most religions today don't think so. They feel the need to update and change doctrine and practices to make their religion "relevant" for today.

• People sin now as they did in the 1st century - "For all have sinned..." (Romans 3:23.)
• People need salvation now as they did in the 1st century - "Save yourselves from this crooked generation" (Acts 2:40.)
• The gospel of Christ saves people now as it did in the 1st century - "...It is the power of God unto salvation..." (Romans 1:16.)

Since God is the same yesterday and today, the same obedience to the gospel today will make saved people of us as it did back then. 1st century Christianity is not only possible, it actually exists today when folks follow the New Testament faithfully.

The Camden Avenue Church of Christ urges a return to the original Christianity and we work for religious unity. We believe that such unity will only come when everyone follows the same, simple Biblical pattern. There should be an insistence on Biblical authority for that is the only way to guarantee eternal success . We shouldn't make our religion releveant to the world today - we should make the world today relevant to the Bible. We can be just Christians. Why not check it out?
